D. GRAY-MAN follows Alan Walker, a teenage boy with a bizarrely deformed arm, whose parents left him when he was very young. He is taken in by an adoptive guardian known as the Mana Walker. After the Mana Walker dies, his soul is resuscitated into an evil spirit by the mysterious Millennium Earl. Before Alan can reluctantly defeat the Mana Walker’s spirit, the Walker casts a spell on Alan’s left eye, leaving him with the ability to see other evil spirits.
