Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle

As a lover of a good night’s sleep, I really appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed this anime series and its main female protagonist. As a fan of cute anime shows, I was extremely satisfied. However, it is primarily a very good comedy and parody of heroic stories seen from a completely different perspective. It is exactly the kind of show that made me alternate between a heart-felt smile and a pleasant warm feeling - in other words, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It has its minor shortcomings, like the repetition of some of the jokes, where you can predict that the moment the demons pull out some new anti-hero weapon, it will not turn out the way they planned, and you can predict exactly how it does. Still, it often managed to surprise me, it was great fun and sometimes even quite touching. I quickly grew to like all the characters, in particular the main female protagonist, who is incredibly single-minded and does not let anybody (even her own) get in her way, which everyone has to forgive her for in the end anyway. The animation is sometimes simplistic, however, it looks really good and suits this style of anime perfectly. I really liked the soundtrack too, the opening won me over especially. Looking at the preview, I was not expecting anything special from this anime series, so I was incredibly surprised, excited, and happy with what I got, and I was looking forward to each episode, which regularly helped me achieve a more satisfying good night’s sleep at the end of each Monday which is the worst day of the week for me!
