(Paradis Films)

anglais This movie proves that there is nothing new under the sun. It is just another road trip movie with some peculiar animals (this time birds) on a journey of self-discovery, friendship, and family values. However, the odd message about the dangers and addictiveness of virtual reality did not sit well with me. The internet-addicted pigeons sitting along the telephone wires seemed strange, and I did not really like the concept (however original it may be). The rest is more or less a classic tale about how you should just be yourself, that friends are the ones who help you and understand your shortcomings, and so on. It is quite simple and easy to understand. However, I was not extremely impressed with the characters. Neither the main character, a sparrow who thinks he is a stork, nor the owl with his imaginary friend, let alone the parrot who wants to be a disco singer, tugged at my heartstrings, and I kind of did not care about what would happen to them for most of the movie. As far as the animation goes, it makes this a weaker movie, although the soundtrack works quite well. I would call most of the jokes in this movie very poor too. So, A Stork's Journey is a pretty average family movie, and I did not really find it very impressive, and I was bored more than entertained. 4/10. ()
