My first – and probably last – Underworld. Because apart from the beautiful Prague and Selene, who I just have to admire even as a woman, there wasn't really anything to watch. The film is completely lacking in any kind of suspense, so it was not at all easy to keep my mind on the film. I wouldn't even rate the action scenes as above average. In short, if I wasn't in the theater I probably wouldn't have watched it. 1.5 stars ()

anglais Chaos and mayhem with the ever-so-attractive Kate Beckinsale, who unfortunately has nothing to work with, so she only looks good. The Prague locations will please any local, but the creators didn't get much out of it except for some panoramas of the city and the Hluboká palace. There is little to say about the atmosphere and build-up of the plot, and the whole thing is very dull and repetitive in the same patterns of intrigue and twists. I sincerely hope this is the last installment of the series, because I'm still searching in vain for that original and somewhat Matrix-like style from the first one. ()

anglais Blood Wars, which I've been waiting for as a long time Underworld fan, were my least favourite of the five episodes so far. While my rating still sticks to the happy medium, it is the weakest three stars in this case. In places I found it too over-plotted and rushed, and there was a lack of charismatic bad guys compared to the other episodes. Also, some plot-twists I won’t mention unfortunately came to naught due to the weaker script. Kate Beckinsale still sticks to her badass standard and actually holds the film together somewhat. The fifth (and apparently not final) excursion into the world of vampires and Lycans doesn't bring much new to the table, but it's still fun to watch after a bit of light brain derailment, and Czechs will be there for the many shots from their country. français Pour la cinquième fois, on nous offre du réchauffé et du dilué. ()

anglais The only reason why I’m not giving this a “Boo” this time is Kate Beckinsale, who is fighting a losing battle with the script, direction, logic, and the like. She stubbornly refuses to give up and I can’t help rooting for her in her desperate attempts. Everything else is a sheer disaster, including Theo James's performance, a vampire get-together that looks like a typical German swingers party, vampire Valkyries, and, wait for it, vampire mirror reflections. anglais The film Underworld: Blood Wars tries to get you excited about the action, but it's just boring. It's too full of special effects, too slow-motioned, and there isn't actually a single scene that would truly stick in your memory. Yes, it's very bloody in places, but that's just to get you out of the horrible boredom. It didn't work out so well for me. Underworld: Blood Wars is a big disappointment for me, and I hope that the hints of a sixth episode that were in the ending are not confirmed. ()
