The Equestria Girls movies re-envision the main characters of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series, normally ponies, as human characters in a high school setting. I agree with what the FilmBooster reviewer kamisu wrote about the first movie. I cannot believe I am saying this. However, in the world of MLP, where "ponies are just so much cuter than teenage girls" and all that, I think the initial charm and cuteness have largely disappeared. Even though it has a pretty good story, interesting characters, and an infectious soundtrack, it still does not warrant five stars, in my view. So I am only awarding it 8/10.
