La vie s'écoule paisiblement sur l'île de Beurk... Astrid, Rustik le Morveux,Varek, Kranedur et Kognedur se défient lors de courses sportives de dragons devenues très populaires tandis qu'Harold et Krokmou,désormais inséparables, parcourent les cieux à la conquête de territoires inconnus et de nouveaux mondes. Au cours de l'une de leurs aventures, ils découvrent une grotte secrète qui abrite des centaines de dragons sauvages, protégés par un mystérieux dragonnier... Harold et Krokmou vont alors se retrouver au centre d'une lutte visant à maintenir la paix et vont devoir défendre leurs valeurs pour préserver le destin des vikings et des dragons.
