Where the first series mixed Dollhouse and Matrix themes, Gemini comes with a paraphrase on (later directed) Hanna by Joe Wright. The retreat into the background by familiar faces doesn't bother and after a few episodes, in which there is no shortage of exaggerated emotional outbursts, Suou also becomes a competent guide to the new places of the depressingly charged world. Darker Than Black is lucky to end on a high note. The ambiguous ending left me pleasantly puzzled, but after longer consideration, I simply can't interpret it any other way than a sober happy ending.
