Don't Hurt Me, My Healer!

This anime relies on absurdity and conversational humor, a combination that can work well, but only if at least one of those things is actually funny, which is not the case here. While it felt like something out of Monty Python in terms of storytelling, the whole thing lacks energy and a greater depth. The absurdity does work in the sense that unexpected and crazy things happen, but there’s never a spark and it rarely makes you smile in spite of a good punchline. The conversational humor is unfortunately repetitive, so you know what to expect after a while, and Carla’s comebacks are no longer surprising or funny. I can't figure out if the writers were trying too hard here, or not at all, but a comedy that isn’t funny doesn’t deserve more than a 4/10 from me. (27/06/2022)
