anglais I read Shane Black instead of Shane Mack as the screenwriter during the end credits... And it didn't stop to make me think, because if it was him, I would believe it. Coffee & Kareem is an undemanding but fresh and brisk comedy, another in a series of buddy movies, but this time with a very entertaining duo. Especially Ed Helms, who recently entertained me in The Hangover, is an excellent, unlucky and a bit of a different cop, and has (not only) comedic talent on the level of Steve Carell. I was also pleased with Betty Gilpin, and it made me want to watch GLOW again right away. ()

anglais The thing I like about Netflix is that they are not afraid to produce original buddy action movies. Sometimes, however, they should focus less on originality and use some time-proven elements, rather than try new things at all cost. Because putting together a stupid cop and a black teenager with dreadlocks and a sharp tongue simply doesn’t work. Ed Helms as the stupid cop is alright, I’ve grown used to him over the years and don’t mind seeing him in movies, but his teen buddy has an incredibly punchable face and his catchphrases are pathetic rather than funny. Unfortunately, the movie is slightly mediocre. The technical aspect is not bad, but the buddy chemistry is missing. ()
