Six candidats américains sont sélectionnés à la loterie pour participer à un jeu meurtrier sous l'oeil d'un caméraman. Equipés d'une arme à feu, ils s'opposent dans une compétition sans limites où ils n'ont d'autre choix que de tuer ou d'être tués, le but étant d'être le dernier rescapé du groupe. La championne en titre est l'impitoyable Dawn Lagarto, qui revient dans sa ville natale au bout de quinze ans. Enceinte de huit mois, elle fera tout son possible pour survivre. This idea of a brutal reality show as a metaphor for "how far it can go" has crossed my mind several times, but it didn't deserve such a poorly executed treatment. Psychologically charged, unbelievable insertions, scenes of unexpected encounters with super awkward lines like "You still love him" don't really correspond to the previous attempts at creating a harsh atmosphere. In the end, it's 30% for a few decent scenes where the creators managed to evoke some emotion from me, and for the outstanding last shot. But for a similar attempt, I want to see ideas, not a basic premise stretched out for an hour and a half.
