anglais It is not just a coincidence that Lisztomania was created in the same year as the cult pop musical Rocky Horror Picture Show. It is a typical product of the relaxed and undisciplined atmosphere of the 70s, which was a consequence of the sexual revolution of the previous decade. It was the era of glam rock, porn cinemas, and tolerated prostitution in city centers. Lisztomania is cheeky and boldly crosses the boundaries of good taste and social norms. However, compared to Rocky Horror, it is clearly more sexually provocative, fragmented in terms of plot, and chaotic. While Rocky Horror captured my attention with several songs, I missed the musical aspect in Lisztomania. Thematically, it is shallow and unless you are a teenager who has not yet entered the sexually active period of your life, you are unlikely to be interested in the erotic antics, let alone captivated by them. This peculiar cabaret mostly bored me, and I would need it to be more disciplined, purposeful, and intellectually deeper. Overall impression: 40%. ()
