"Ghoulies II" is simply just a part of a trend that existed in American horror at the time. It is a film that wants to be both entertaining and serious at the same time. Neither side stands out and the movie becomes incredibly ordinary, and you don't even really understand why you are watching it, let alone why it was made in the first place. But it happened, and in front of you is a loud piece that gives you nothing.
