Project Gemini

This sci-fi alien horror film from Russia didn't quite turn out as expected. It’s not bad in itself, Project ‘Gemini’ has decent visuals and some decent moments, but as a whole it's actually pretty pointless, bringing nothing innovative or imaginative to the genre. There's a spaceship searching for an alien planet (again), and of course they stumble upon something they didn't count on. The monster is a cross between a predator and an alien, which I wouldn't have minded so much, but it doesn't appear on the scene until a few minutes before the end. Those who love monster movies that rely more on the viewer's imagination will be satisfied, but for my taste nothing much happens properly for an hour, and I didn't find the climax itself very interesting either. The gore is minimal, the English dubbing doesn't add to the performances and the commercials, which appear in the currently available rip once in a while, don't add much to the atmosphere either. Three stars only for the fact that this is my favourite subgenre, which doesn't come up that often, and also that it's not exactly cheap rubbish, which is good enough for average, but I was hoping for more.
