My first encounter with Pee-wee was rather awkward. I can't help it, but Paul Reubens at sixty looks weird as this wacky character, more like one of those puppets that sit on a ventriloquist's lap. While there are some funny moments, overall the character and the film disappointed me rather than entertained me.
