A high-budget horror film with nice visuals that also earned its keep, but unfortunately it's such a fun fairy tale. Due to the PG-13 rating, we don't get to see the gore, and there are quite a few zombies, but I liked the unadorned setting, which is very unusual for a horror film these days. I also liked the well-known actress Qi Shu, who is as adorable as ever. Funny, likeable, far-fetched in places, but good for a laugh. 60%. ()
This movie certainly isn't amazing, although it must be acknowledged that in the somewhat horror-like scenes, it is visually very well done. Otherwise, it's a fairly standard variation of Indiana Jones, with the obvious requirement for a happy ending, and a bit of darkness redeemed by the light at the end of the tunnel. As afternoon entertainment, though, it's quite enjoyable. ()
