I have always liked the theme of Shinigami, so I started watching this anime series. It has an other-worldly narrative, full of supernatural atmosphere, which I like. Although the visuals are nice, the music did not appeal to me; luckily, you can skip the opening and ending because I found the second opening pretty awful. Rinne reminds me of Yato from Noragami with his attitude, and I liked that a lot, so Rinne is a cool character. Sakura is a pretty plain, almost emotionless character, although, with anime girls, that is fine. The world of Shinigami looks quite interesting, although, of course, it does not come close at all to Seireitei. Not much happened throughout twenty-five episodes; a few characters showed up, although neither Tsubasa Jumonji nor Ageha seemed very impressive. Also, Rinne's father was almost unbearable at times. Some funnier moments were quite repetitive and therefore stopped being funny over time. THE SECOND SEASON is in the spirit of the first one, where not much happens; the plot is episodic, so the only thing that increases are the new characters, some of which are quite interesting, others amusing, and some I could do without. I like the latest openings, especially the last ending, so I have a better feeling about the soundtrack than with the first season. THE THIRD SEASON is more of the same yet more episodic, although the episodes are usually a three-parter, so there are several stories, although they tend to be pretty short. However, you still get the same average anime series that is still perfectly watchable. 5/10. ()
