A very nicely made cartoon about nothing. Well, not exactly, of course. It's about something, but it's so unimaginative and seen a thousand times that it can make you sick. Cliché, cliché, cliché. It needed more humor, less annoyance from both the bird and human characters (I understood why the main feathered hero was dubbed by Jesse Eisenberg - yes, I disliked him very much at times), fewer scenes like the one at the bird disco and more of those cutely wicked thieving monkeys. I give Rio an ordinary three (slightly weaker) stars, and it can be thankful for them. ()

anglais The film is greatly helped by the fact that it takes place in Brazil and local realities are used here. The film thus has quite an interesting setting, and the colorful atmosphere definitely suits it. There are interesting characters, though I didn't expect that we would return to them. Well, I am quite worried about the second part. ()

anglais In places Rioloses pace and some of the supporting characters are pretty annoying. However, parrots Eisenberg and Hathaway are a feat of great casting. You can hear that nerd in Blu a mile off. But the story is run-of-the-mill and has no surprises; at least Powell went to town a bit with the music. ()

anglais Nice and colorful film with excellent animation and music. The individual characters (at least the bird ones) are very cute and likeable. The plot is not great, but the scenes of beautiful Rio de Janeiro kind of makes up for it. The original carnival scenes are a feast for the eyes. There is a little romance at the end... nice, even if not entirely exceptional. 3.5 stars. ()
