Set on the stage of Sengoku / Warring States Period (around 1467-1573) where great military commanders all have one goal of conquering Japan and stand as the head of the united kingdom. A young one-eyed military commander from the north named Date Masamune joins the legendary battle of "Kawanaka-jima" where two power lords Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin were preparing for their battle. I debated for a long time whether to give it 3 or 4 stars, but in the end I decided to go for the weaker four, as they like to say. Why? Great animation. Lots of vivid colors. Cool fighters (that is, when they're not spouting wisecracks X-D). Great opening and ending themes. Great overworld battles. That's about what made me rate it that way. Plus I enjoyed the last two episodes quite a bit. Funny thing...
