anglais I will soon start calling movies with Nicholas Cage cleaning movies. You see, lately they have been pretty stupid and simple and cleaning up with them in the background is an incredibly action-filled experience. What adds a couple of points to the movie Outcast is definitely the fact that Nick Powell worked for instance on Braveheart or on Last Samurai as the author of all the fights and squabbles. Shooting a film was evidently quite an experience for him and so he did it in the simplest way possible. He doesn’t worry about history at all and his two main characters are a clear portrayal of the rough Middle Ages. I was happy to see Hayden Christensen once again in a film, but I’d much rather see the stuff on his hair in the fooball team Real Madrid than in the Chinese Middle Ages. On top of that, you get Nicky with his naturally straight hair and with a snake around his neck who did not add a sea of tranquility into the film, quite the contrary. Together, however, the two of them formed a great duo, one that you have to find entertaining. So, a three-star review is absolutely deserved. In today’s flood of overly clever and definitely true historical slasher movies, this flick seems like a flea’s shit. On the other hand, back in the 1990s this flick would have made quite a ruckus on the B film VHS scene. ()

anglais It has a pretty expected plot, a twist that tries to heavily rely on emotions and great, cool characters, but in the end, it's simply just an ordinary, not very action-packed movie, or rather not action-packed enough to blow you away. However, it still features Nicolas Cage, and I simply enjoy him, so for me, it's quite enough even in this installment. ()
