anglais "Toilets are always funny!" No, Sam, they’re not. As well as the self-parodic level of the film and the tragic choice of the lead actor, the film definitively falls flat due to Miller's cluelessness. You can't get away with a protagonist without a personal history and a plot without a solid skeleton in a movie based on a comic book. It'll be dead... "like Star Trek!" ()

anglais Despite the clumsy dialogue, the completely far-fetched plot, and the only very shy attempts at livening the situation up a bit, The Spirit has something to offer in its naivety and carefully crafted visual side, far beyond the imaginary limits of Sin City. My beloved Frank Miller handles the screenwriting and directing chair like the clumsiest elephant in a china shop, yet I can't find it in myself to be angry at him. Perhaps because this alley was blind from the first drop of the clapper, yet lovingly finished. ()

anglais Okay, so I guess I'm weird, because I enjoyed The Spirit, quite a bit even, and I'm not ashamed of it at all. I have a soft spot for Frank Miller, I guess that's what it is. Oh, and for Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes, Samuel L. Jackson... This film was certainly not intended to be serious, as everyone can see, so why expect super-intellectual ingenuity? It just depends on your relationship to comics, how much you like trashy work... and how weird you are. I give it four well-deserved stars.__P.S. This is how I imagine a movie full of beautiful women. ()

anglais A very mediocre B comedy, but entertaining nonetheless. When I saw the horrible ratings here and read the reviews, I was expecting tragedy and bullshit of the worst kind. But I just had fun and enjoyed the beautiful visuals (even though they are virtually identical to Sin City in many ways). Frank Miller may not be a director, but he seems to have translated his own brainchild to the screen in the way he envisioned. Whether well or poorly is up for debate.) ()
