anglais This farewell movie is pretty much on par with every other double episode late in the show. I watched SG1, but I never became an ardent fan, so The Ark of Truth wasn’t that satisfying. The TV quality that irradiates from every scene (bad special effects, cheap sets) could be forgiven (you are already used to it from the show after all these years), but the showrunners could have worked harder for this major event. Already from the beginning you can guess the next “unpredictable” coincidence that will move the plot forward or the problems the characters will face. Basically, there isn’t a single surprise, everything has already been used in the show (and many times even better). I’m giving it 3 stars (and there were moments when I thought of two, maybe because of the excessive expectations that remained unmet) hoping that Continuum fares better. ()

anglais Everything good must come to an end, and SG-1 successfully did it. Despite the excessive criticism that poured in during the last two seasons, Ori, Adria, Vala, and especially Cameron Mitchell were companions in many powerful moments for me. The story of the Truth Arc unfolds in the same spirit, definitively closing the chapter of the past few years and sending SG-1 towards new adventures. And it is truly epic closure because all the heroes fulfill exactly the roles we expect from them, and the unexpected line with the Replicators is a gift that grateful fans will not forget. However, we still had one bigger gift waiting for us... ()

anglais The gate is a matter of the heart for me, so take the rating with some reserve. As the ending to the series, Arch of Truth serves well, but when you’re watching the movie you must take it with slight reserve too. But in any case, super wisecracks, my favorite team (O'Neill was missing, but they’ll make up for that next time) and a plot that has something about it. I’m just pretty satisfied. I’m looking forward to the next movie, which I think has that much greater potential. P.S.: The dubbing is heavy-handed, wtf. Whose idea was it to change dubbers? ()

anglais When I started watching this movie, I realized that I never actually finished the whole series. The characters have changed a lot and I was quite confused. Since it was one of my favorite series, I will have to go back to it someday. The movie definitely didn't disappoint me, it's still what I liked about the series. I'm a bit sad that Richard Dean Anderson has taken a back seat and is not in this movie at all. It was actually because of him that I watched the series. MacGyver is still my childhood legend. So yes, points for nostalgia are also included. ()
