In their second big screen adventure, the year is 2373 and the crew of the Enterprise-E has learned the Borg has returned. Because of Captain Picard's past experiences with the Borg, Starfleet has ordered the Enterprise to stay out of the fight. Realizing too much is at stake, Picard disobeys orders and takes the Enterprise to Earth. His knowledge of Borg technology leads the Federation fleet to victory, but a Borg sphere escapes and opens a temporal vortex. The Enterprise pursues and travels back to April 4, 2063; the day before the first warp flight. (texte officiel du distributeur)

anglais The best Next Generation film that mixes all the quality of Star Trek – a riveting plot (which is usually guaranteed by the Borg), excellent effects, good acting performances and an unmistakable sense of humor, this time backed up by the character of the brilliant schmuck Cochran, who ironizes all of Star Trek with his catchphrases and behavior. Frakes has done a top-notch job of making high-quality science fiction that can also lean on the complex world of Star Trek. Moreover, it will amuse even those who otherwise do not enjoy this world... and Jerry's baton? I kiss, I bow, the central melody is such concentrated pathos that I love it as soon as I hear it. For me, the absolute first-class ticket among the galactic first class stars. Whoopee! ()

anglais No cautious tapping and cuddling with the ship. Jonathan Frakes starts off at full throttle from the very beginning, and so far the darkest Trekkian script (Ronald D. Moore's pre-Battlestar Galactica handwriting is dreadfully evident) is transformed into a captivating spectacle. Thanks to this, the Borgs do not appear in any way ridiculous, and the same crew that was almost annoying in the previous film suddenly functions as a plot guide. Perhaps there could have been less of the earthbound winking and nudging with the drunken James Cromwell. Otherwise, along with Star Trek: The Voyage Home, it is certainly the peak of the series, and it is no coincidence that this happens yet again while time-playing with Earth. ()

anglais A good installment with a proper villain, and interesting new characters, but still one I couldn't fully immerse myself in. As a sci-fi and as a film, it's very good, but I simply don't have that connection to the characters and I'm not able to fully build it. It's simply a good film, but it won't be a favorite of mine. ()
