anglais You mustn't hurt toys, dear children, you know? Or one of the major nails in the coffin of 2D animated films that started the avalanche. And as it’s well known, Pixar doesn't just focus on the technical aspects, but on the story, which in Toy Story is also funny and touching, with a hidden "educational message" on top. ()

anglais I don’t get it. I can't rationally justify it. It pisses me off. I saw the first Toy Story once as a little brat, at a very young age and I didn’t like it as much as other great Pixar movies. Now, after watching it for the second time in my adulthood, I don't hesitate to declare that I used to be a bit stupid. This film hasn't aged at all; not only does the animation look beautiful, but the world of the toys and their worries offers an almost inexhaustible source of original narrative possibilities. The following episodes may have exploited that more creatively, but the first one is still a superbly executed introduction that imaginatively juxtaposes the central characters with familiar human settings, excellently developing the relationship between the two iconic heroes, while supplying great adult humour on top. A legend with a legendary Czech dubbing. 90% ()

anglais I’d been avoiding these three films for quite a long time. I just didn't find the subject appealing, until I was made to watch them by a very persistent friend who brought me all three installments, and, lo and behold, I had a lot of fun. True, they are pretty old and I've seen a lot of newer and well-made animated films before them, but the charm is still there. Definitely a 5*. ()

anglais I got to this movie quite late because I never found anything to get excited about in it. Except for the fact that I like westerns, sci-fi, toys... I actually have no idea why it took me so long to watch "Toy Story", but in the end, I got to it, and as always, Pixar completely enchanted me. The relationship with toys is simply close to me. ()

anglais I mostly enjoyed spotting the pop culture references, where the ones to The Shining and The Exorcist were very entertaining. It's undoubtedly an entirely original subject, I just found myself wondering at times how some of the scenes would be handled (or not) by school children. I'm in no way discounting the importance of this film in terms of the evolution and future growth of animation in general. Plus it has really good cinematography. I've just never been as fired up about it as I "probably should have been". For many a cult animated film, for me a pretty passable animated film with an unnecessarily scary Sid character – through the lens of a child's perspective. 3.5 stars. ()
