anglais I really didn’t expect Galaxy Quest would be so much fun. I almost don’t know Star Trek – I prefer the more serious and colder side of science fiction – but I just loved the homage to trashy sci-fi silliness. Pissed-off Rickman is downright charming. ()

anglais I remember the time I borrowed Galaxy Quest from our video rental store on a video tape. I knew nothing back then, maybe only that Tim Allen was the protagonist of Home Improvement. I did not expect such an amazing and clever parody I got here. And the best part is that it made me laugh when I was twelve and it still makes me laugh today when I am more than twice that age. That’s another way to recognize a good comedy. And Galaxy Quest is one of the few good ones which manage to make fun of sci-fi. This film makes fun of Star Trek in particular. ()

anglais Galaxy Quest had relatively average reviews and slightly above-average reactions from mainstream audiences upon its release. However, a minority of viewers who identified themselves as science fiction fans were overjoyed and praised this film to the heavens. Galaxy Quest doesn't so much make fun of the science fiction genre itself, but rather its enthusiastic fans. Science fiction fandom is a world of its own, divided into various groups, and the most prominent is the fandom surrounding the television show Star Trek - and it's precisely this fandom that Galaxy Quest parodies. The film's creators don't simply cheaply borrow certain scenes and lines from the series, but they mock the very foundations of the genre. On the other hand, the series was made by creators who genuinely love Star Trek and science fiction, so their humor is gentle. What sets this film apart from the average comedy is its fast-paced nature, quality screenplay, special effects, direction, and above all, its very respectable cast of actors. Sigourney Weaver is essentially parodying herself, while Tim Allen and Alan Rickman thoroughly indulge in their roles as washed-up actors who nitpick at autograph signings and various promotional events. This film may not be perfect, but as a fan of the genre, I'll add a little something to my rating. Overall impression: 85%. ()

anglais The thing I like about Galaxy Quest is that, although many people call it a parody, it is something completely different. It's a tribute to the sci-fi genre as such, especially Star Trek, which it doesn't just cheaply make fun of. I hope it's not just me, but every minute of GQ is filled with this great admiration for all those Captain Kirks and Picards... and that's the way it should be. It's hard to list which of the actors is the best - every single one of them does something incredible! Oh, and... of course it's a parody! ()

anglais This is an absolutely perfect comedy. I have seen Galaxy Quest many times and hope to see it many times more. In a brilliant parody of Star Trek, I was most entertained by Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver and the Thermians led by the unrivaled Mathesar. There are a lot of funny scenes and a load of zingers in the film, so there is no time to get bored. You’d be entertained even against your will. For example, Gwen's tantrum in the shredder scene is epic and sums up exactly how I feel when I come across a thing like that in a game. Perfect! ()

anglais Excellent comedy that is interesting in that it must appeal to those who love "Star Trek" (the original), but can also catch the attention of those who hate or simply avoid "Star Trek". A brilliantly cast sci-fi comedy with great scenes and great characters. Definitely one of those comedies that should not be overlooked. ()
