anglais Long-length authorial project by Bill Plympton, which was presented at the Třeboň ANIFEST, where it won in the category of full-length films. Festival victory itself does not mean much because the competition is usually weak in this category in Třeboň, unlike short films, for commercial reasons. Nevertheless, it is definitely not a bad film. It carries the characteristics typical for Plympton's work, namely a nonconformist screenplay and an unmistakable drawing style. However, I have had long-term problems with his visual concept - his drawing simply doesn't appeal to me - so it's only worth three stars, although otherwise it would be reliably worth an extra one for his messy film... The film can be considered as a dark parody of American teenage films set in a high school environment. Overall impression: 65%. ()
