anglais Snow White with the Red Hair features a respectable love story that girls and women will probably enjoy quite a lot. However, somehow it did not leave me with much, except a simple love story. Sure, it is nice to watch, and the music is pleasant enough, although somehow I was expecting more. I found the first episode quite interesting, and I enjoyed the allusions to Snow White. I expected it could carry on in a similar relaxed spirit, and it more or less did, although I still felt something was missing. If I were to compare the "red-head" in this show to another "red-head" in Yona of the Dawn, the most recent show which strongly appealed to me from the shoujo genre, I would have to say that the character Shirayuki does not strike me as having any great room to develop her character further. Plus, while it is great that she has a goal and determination, that objective does not seem very important to me, and therefore, somehow, I do not feel like I can root for the main female protagonist that much. Zen is also okay in general, even though I did not have as strong an impression of him as I did of, say, Son Hak from Yona of the Dawn, where I thought practically from the first episodes that he was just a really cool guy. Zen is more like a prince from a fairy tale like "The Princess with the Golden Star". Even though I have nothing against fairy tales, they do not grab me as much as they used to. Another minor point is the lack of any good fun. A love story is fine, even though sometimes I need a little break from all the sparkle and "save the princess" situations, and some fun is really good for that. As an example of shoujo anime, this show could be considered above-average, and as I write in the introduction, members of the opposite sex might enjoy this. However, as a guy, I was not that much into it, and although it is easy to watch, it is not worth more than an average rating, in my opinion. I am probably going to think before watching the second season in January, 5/10. ()
