Pitch Perfect 2 (2015)

anglais A sequel that keeps the level and instead of a school competition there is an international competition, where the German band Das Sound Machine was insanely good. I had fun. 75%.

The Hit Girls (2012)

anglais Fun pop nonsense with pretty girls. Surprisingly, I had a good time. Anna Kendrick is cute and Rebel Wilson is properly wacky – the fat girls are always the funniest in female comedies. I'd probably be afraid to recommend it, but anyone who likes high-school films and the style of music shouldn't have a problem. 75%.

Kingsman : Le cercle d'or (2017)

anglais Kingsman is one of my favourite movies ever, but the sequel is a disappointment. Usually with sequels they add more of everything that was good in the first one, here it's the opposite. There's less action, blood, humour, and the pacing has slowed down, which were the four basic elements that the first one had. The film starts with an excellent car chase and then we wait an hour and a half for an action scene, which is a hell of a long time. I liked the action scene in the bar, which recalls the first episode, and then the half hour finale, which has a decent pace and fixes the impression of the previous hour, but lacks something that would be equal, for example, the church scene from the first one. I loved Pedro Pascal, he steals all the action for himself with Las, Halle Berry is also nice and the character of the president is awesome. I didn’t like the uninteresting Julianne Moore, who was absolutely not suitable for villain, she is not Samuel L. Jackson, but then I don't trust female villains too much, and her robot dogs seemed a bit too much for me. Overall, still over the top and stylish fun with very creative and modern direction by Matthew Vaughn, but it didn't have enough ideas to match the first one in my opinion anymore. I'd love to see a spin off with the Statesmen. 75%.

Battleship Island (2017)

anglais In a word, WOW! After the decent Veteran and the great The Berlin File, Seung-Wan Ryoo is moving from the action genre to the historical-war genre and has made not only the most expensive but also the best Korean film I've seen this year. The stellar cast is literally a treat: my favorite Jeong-min Hwang with Ji-sub So and the new young battle-hardened star Joong-ki Song are incredibly good. The film describes the events of a harsh concentration camp on an island in the middle of the Ocean where Koreans are forced to mine coal under strict Japanese supervision. The atmosphere is literally haunting, properly dirty and very hopeless. I have absolutely no complaints about the action, it is very varied and there is plenty of it. The explosions in the mines and the perfect bombing from the planes are amazing, and the whole film culminates in a half hour escape that is not only spectacularly shot but also very realistic and raw, there is no shortage of dead children or women and the borderline violence reaches a Korean peak (I had countless orgasms during the film). To top it all off there are strong emotions where I screamed through half the film. Great production design, amazing soundtrack, awesome action, decent amount of violence. That's what I call a f*cking movie. 95%

The Big Sick (2017)

anglais An enjoyable film with a topical theme of Muslims and a very likeable main character, who unfortunately I didn't find funny at all in his stand up routines, but the film keeps a decent level thanks to intelligent dialogues, decent romance, strong emotions and you also learn something about Pakistani culture, so it's definitely a film worth watching. 75%

Ming yue ji shi you (2017)

anglais I don't find the period when Japan occupied Hong Kong very attractive, so I unfortunately suffered through this film. The first hour was still okay, with Eddie Peng doing some decent liquidation, then the more dramatic part comes in, the action goes by the wayside and the film focuses mainly on the women, so boredom is inevitable. Nothing for me 40%

Lettres d'Iwo Jima (2006)

anglais I don't understand how this Clint Eastwood war flick completely flew under my radar. It is a very decent affair from the viewpoint of the Korean people, where Clint beautifully shows that not all the soldiers were fanatics of the Emperor, but there were people with hearts who felt fear. The film has decent war scenes with no shortage of gore and features some very powerful moments (the shooting a family's dog and a mass sacrifice). 85%.

Cashback (2006)

anglais An enjoyable British comedy with offbeat actors, time stopping and the most naked women I've ever seen in a film, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The icing on the cake is the naked Swedish woman on the stairs, or the little girl showing her pussy to the boys for a pound, that's what I call business! :D 75%

Mother ! (2017)

anglais Darren Aronofsky is a director who rarely suits me with his work, he makes a lot of controversial films for his audience, but with this one he absolutely blew me away and proved that he has balls. Mother! is an acting tour-de-force of great actors: an excellent Jennifer Lawrence, who reaches the bottom of her acting abilities and gives an Oscar-winning performance, the same can be said about Javier Bardem, and the participation of Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer is very good, a dream casting for a horror-thriller. The premise is very interesting and I can say this is a great nightmare that I guess nobody would like to experience. The romantic idyll of a happy couple in a beautiful big house starts to be disturbed by uninvited guests, which start to increase and towards the end the house literally becomes a battleground! The film has a very stiffing and uncomfortable atmosphere, for the first time in a long time I was really anxious to the point of being uncomfortable while watching it. The last half hour escalates to the point where my mind was boggled by all the things the director dared to show, and at times he was almost explicitly rude to the audience, girls will definitely turn closed their eyes and the hardened viewers will "snort". During the final twist a lot of people in the cinema said “What the Fuck!" A lot of people may get upset, I personally was very surprised by something so original and strangely interesting. A gritty paranoid, hallucinogenic, intelligent and atmospheric thriller, the likes of which hasn't been seen in the last few years. The finale is the kind of WTF freakout that I want to repeat immediately. The movie will definitely divide audiences into two groups: very satisfied and very angry viewers; I belong to the former. 85%.

Before the Flood (2016)

anglais I'm not much of a documentary person, but given that it features Leonardo DiCaprio and is about our planet and how we are destroying it, it is a very interesting, entertaining affair that unexpectedly entertained me more than I had hoped. Very good. Everyone should see it. 80%.
