Lors d'une sombre nuit anglaise du début du XXème siècle, un crime parfait est commis quand un mari assassine sa riche femme avec l'aide de ses serviteurs. Le veuf va alors toucher un héritage conséquent, mais Tabitha, le chat de la victime, témoin de l'événement crapuleux, semble avoir compris les machinations des malfaiteurs. Il faut alors se débarrasser du sinistre animal. (Arcadès)

"The Shadow of the Cat" is another film from the Hammer studio that certainly doesn't disappoint and has something interesting and original about it. It's a pity that it is quite evident in the film that it is very old and that the ravages of time have taken their toll on it, as well as the unavailability of better technology during the filming period. However, as a gothic horror, the film still deserves attention and should not just be forgotten.
