Teal'c's body has been saved from death on Apophis' ship, but his mind is still loyal to his Goa'uld lord. Jaffa Master Bra'tac arrives at SGC to assist SG-1 in "de-programming" Teal'c. Bra'tac wants to put Teal'c through a Jaffa ritual called M'al Sharran in which the Goa'uld symbiote is removed and as he approaches death, the events that forged Teal'c will "wash across his mind like a wave." Only at this point, says Bra'tac, that Teal'c will choose the correct path to follow. Although no one has ever survived this ritual, Bra'tac believes Teal'c would want them to try. O'Neill, Daniel and Carter take turns at Teal'c's bedside as he goes through the deadly rite, urging him to remember his true self and to reject Apophis as a false god. Teal'c's memories take him back to events that shaped his life: training with Bra'tac, commiserating with Jaffa friends, sharing love with his wife Drey'auc, and becoming the first prime of Apophis. For the M'al Sharran process to work it must literally take Teal'c to death's door. But will he be strong enough to resist the programming of his former god and return his loyalty to the services of Stargate Command? (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM))
