Jan-Michael Vincent stars as the improbably named Stringfellow Hawke, a Vietnam veteran still troubled by the disappearance of his brother during the war. Secret government agent "Archangel" (Alex Cord) approaches Hawke with a unique offer: to help him recover and then become the de facto pilot of the powerful, top-secret helicopter known as Airwolf. With that proposal the series begins chronicling Hawke's adventures, along with his sidekick Dominic (Ernest Borgnine) as pilot of the advanced aircraft. (texte officiel du distributeur)

As a kid, I looked forward to every episode like a smile from my crush. Great theme song and the BEST helicopter of it's time, it had nitro back in '84.

A legend that is just as silly and naive as the 1980s, with a lot of gimmicks and no self-preservation. But for a little boy who was a fan of aviation, a few episodes are definitely exciting. It works similarly to, for example, Knight Rider with cars. Fascination with something that doesn't actually exist and we still wish so much it did.
