I read the book a long time ago, I saw the film shortly after, and both had their own power, in comparison to what I read and saw, the pilot episode of the series did not turn out bad at all. The proper rubber behaves the same way in times of peace and war, and therefore is even more dangerous. The fall without permission from a superior and its subsequent resolution completely shattered me, those dialogues were simply magical.
