Greta

Un thriller formellement bien réalisé, mais sans originalité au niveau du contenu, avec une grande actrice, mais dont le talent est mal exploité pour un personnage aussi unidimensionnel. De plus, on attendrait davantage de ce film du fait de sa participation (et également grâce au réalisateur), en lieu et plus d'un simple film de genre. A nice little thriller with the talented Chloë Grace Moretz and the excellent psychopathic Isabelle Huppert! Chloë is new to New York and accidentally finds a handbag on the subway and decides to return it to its original owner, Greta, who is on the surface friendly and very hospitable, but with hidden agendas and psychopathic traits. A disturbing, unsettling, perfectly acted and decently shot thriller with a nicely choreographed finale. In the 90s it would have been a hit as hell, but nowadays the film doesn't quite pull it off, yet as a genre one-off it serves decently. 70% (14/05/2019)

Phew!! I’m so relieved it wasn't about THAT Greta! Putting aside the traditional use of a number of illogical situations that seem to have taken root in such films, it was decent entertainment for viewers who are no strangers to phobias. There was plenty to choose from here, but claustrophobics would probably win. The story was plain and simple, the plot didn't bring anything new, but I still had quite a good time and even a few laughs (not that it was the authors’ intention). Plus, there was Chloë Grace Moretz, whose looks definitely didn’t make me turn away from the screen. (07/03/2020)
