Akechi, Kobayashi, and a masked antagonist - could this be The Fiend with Twenty Faces? I have seen several versions of this over the last three seasons; Edogawa Ranpo and his mystery fiction crime dramas are something the Japanese are proud of. But anyway, this short version is definitely the most pointless adaptation I have had the misfortune to watch so far. Sure, five-minute-long anime shows are usually nothing to write home about; however, I found this one was very poor. Plus, those five minutes were very long and boring. If I had to rate it, it would probably be awarded one star at most, and that is perhaps only because I have seen some "real gems" like Sushi Police. So I could not see any potential here that would keep my interest, so I am going to stop here. I will also pass on this one without a rating. Drop after the first episode. (03/01/2017)
