With merciless exaggeration, this five-part satirical comedy tells the story of a fictional Czech trip to the Moon, from the moment it turns out this forgotten project with misappropriated financing must be finished at all cost to avoid a liquidation fine from the EU. Three episodes will be screened. (Summer Film School)

anglais On Kavčích horách once in ten they let something bolder into the ether, and is it an event? Not at all. Just a half-hearted political satire that works under full gravity, where the genius Martin Myšička reigns. In zero gravity, except for the meetings with our eastern and northern neighbors, a terribly desired Central European version of Red Dwarf, but it was forgotten that no fundamental sci-fi is being parodied. The second and fifth parts sprinkle with accurate observations and funny replies, with the rest I hesitate where and when such a combination of creative ego, a sense of exceptionalism, and a loose dramaturgical oversight last wed. I remember the times when Baldýnský used to pounce on similar things, instead of creating them himself. ()

anglais Unfortunately, my encounter with the series ended with one episode. For me to continue, the pilot would have to excite me more. The next episodes may be better, but it is the pilot that ultimately decides whether investing time in the rest of the series makes sense, and the first episode simply did not convince me. This is kind of how I imagine the fulfillment of the term "communal satire." It's not outright bad and embarrassing, but rather shallow and unfinished. It simply reflects the chronic disease of Czech television production. There is a lack of money and time to bring ideas to a successful conclusion. The popular show The Simpsons has a team of 22-25 writers, and successful American sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory have almost as many. Here, Tomáš Baldýnský is doing it alone. Maybe that would be enough, but after the fifth rewrite, I don't know if the result is due to excessive self-confidence and lack of criticism or if Czech writers are paid too little for their work to afford to play with and refine their work. Flaws can also be found in the execution, the direction is definitely not great, and I also have problems with the cast. The only one who works perfectly is David Novotný. I wouldn't hesitate to recast the rest of the team. Jana Plodková could possibly play a stupid blonde who ended up among the astronauts by accident or favoritism, but being the only enthusiastic and professional astronaut from NASA is simply a mistake. If it weren't for such a pronounced enthusiastic promotion, I probably wouldn't have such high expectations, which are subsequently followed by disappointment, but like this, I won't go above 2 stars and a 45% overall impression.
