anglais This brilliant animated film showcases the collaboration of two top creators. Jiří Trnka as the artist and director, and on the other hand, Jan Werich as an exceptional voice actor, who effortlessly voiced numerous characters and captured their personalities through changes in voice intonation, creating a timeless work. The poetic essence of the film draws directly from Jaroslav Hašek, making its statement much more powerful than all live-action film versions. Visually, the film is inspired by Josef Lada's illustrations of Hašek's novel. Overall impression: 100%. ()

anglais I have never read the book, so I don't really have any connection to it. Therefore, I don't mind the film version with Rudolf Hrušínský. On the contrary, I quite like it. Trnka's version with the brilliant Werich, who voiced all three parts, is not any less great and it is an excellent film that hasn't lost anything in terms of animation even after so many years. ()

anglais The Trnka/Werich collaboration is simply joyful, all three chapters are exactly what one needs. The episode with the Kontuzsovka herbal liqueur is regular proof of that. From Hatvan to Haliče, Svejk's train accidents and Svejk's Budějovice anabasis is what Trnka and Werich agreed on, while the 4th episode already had a developed script, but Trnka was already fed up with Hašek. However, those who demand quantity and don't care about quality can always watch Látal's 1980s series on demand. ()
