(Metropolitan FilmExport)

anglais The mistake was in the first, evidently paid by the studio, hyped-up advanced reviews, because from the point of view of an excited viewer, this must have been a disappointment. Nevertheless, and forgetting the original high expectations, Blair With is an effective found-footage horror flick with professional production values and a nicely mad ending. There are a few stumbles here and there (the ending shows too much without making clear what it actually was. A witch? Who knows, who cares) and there are a few annoying things here and there (stupid characters that don’t respond adequately to the situation), but overall I thought it was alright. Since the original BWP is a film of its time that would not be interesting today, here in the third act, Wingard logically tries to set something bigger in motion, with some success, but he lacks characters to establish a strong enough bond to live the situation through them. In any case, it’s impossible to get rid of the Blair Witch feeling and when compared to the atrocious Book of Shadows, this one is far better. The rating is three stars, though it needed just a bit more to get to four – and I’m already feeling a little like doing it. PS: The morons who feel the need to chatter about the worst movie ever and throw shit after downloading the first crappy torrent should get fucked in the eye by a witch (120 reviews before today, when the first decent torrent was available. Yeah, everyone watched it abroad). ()

anglais Adam Wingard managed to preserve the spirit of the original film The Blair Witch Project, giving it a very similar atmosphere and a sense of rawness. On the other hand, you probably wouldn't expect much else from found footage. This worked for him. Subsequently, he wasn't even afraid to show something more than the original film. Still, I think it will appeal mainly to fans of the genre and the original film. I didn't feel any enthusiasm for it. ()

anglais The message of the film is that there are only problems with blacks and they are lousy campers. And the fact that although the technical possibilities of filming have improved, people are still just filming bullshit. There was nothing left from the first one but Krčák and the hysterical brat of the walking human lunchmeat. I was only interested in one thing: did anyone save the drone? The only meaningful character. Otherwise, the film is about as scary as when you pitch a tent in the garden and talk to your friends all night about cooking. He who turns off the light sleeps. And wins. ()
