I have to admit that the end of the film, which takes place in Bohemian Switzerland, made me quite teary-eyed. Otherwise it is just a regular TV-like flick, where you expect an epic fantasy but instead of that you get a film on the level of an average Czech fairy tale which Czech Television pushes into the world every year during the Christmas holidays.

I was expecting a bit more based on the reviews, but not many films are made from that period, so a cautious thumbs up. The most impressive thing is the young lead actress, who has the ability to look into the human soul, which makes room for some interesting dialogues, and they work decently too. There could have been more action, but I had fun. 65%
