The Stranger can bore you to death with its incredibly slow pace. Surprisingly, it's not a film with any unexpected twists; on the contrary, it operates on a fairly straightforward level and doesn't really impress. It's just that what is being served is unpleasant, and you don't know how bad it can still get. It's not as bad as it could be, but The Stranger is a decent film that is generally underrated.

This film is considered below average everywhere (right now it has 22% positive reviews in Rotten Tomatoes and only 8% satisfied viewers), but I surprisingly liked it. It is not great, surprising or original in any aspect, but it’s still nicely shot, it doesn’t rush and has a pleasant and melancholic mood. I won’t think again about it, but compared to other new horror movies, it’s certainly in the better half.
