Jim is a quite ordinary boy with a quite extraordinary story. As a baby he was sent by post to Morrowland, a tiny island kingdom. His best friend is the locomotive engineer Luke, the proud owner of the steam engine Emma. One day, this inseparable trio answers the call of the wild and sets out to travel the world. Their journey leads them to Mandala. There they learn that Emperor's daughter Li Si has been kidnapped. The unfortunate ruler asks them for help in rescuing her. Traces of the lost princess lead them across the sea and the mountains to the legendary Dragon City. Our heroes have no idea that their adventure quest is far from being over. (JuniorFest)

anglais A lovely fairy tale by Michael Ende. "Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver" (1960) is one of the modern classics of children's literature, and although Ende is better known primarily as the author of "The Neverending Story" (1979), which assumes a much more mature reader, it should be easy to be carried away by his magical first book full of fantasy and adventure. I'm already looking forward to the sequel. ()
