Corpse Party: Tortured Souls - Bōgyaku sareta tamashii no jukyō

Anime psycho gore madness!! A group of students performs a spell that is supposed to unite them as friends, but one of them makes a mistake and they are teleported to a different time dimension, to an old dark school haunted by the ghosts of murdered students. It’s very dark, quite twisted, incredibly brutal, and the gore is really great (guts hanging out, gouged out eyes, severed heads, hands). You can try to guess who will die and in what order throughout the whole film, and it is definitely unpredictable. And let's not kid ourselves, killing children is an intense and unpleasant theme in itself, so even in anime, it has quite some "juice" to it. The finale with an unexpected twist is also surprising. Definitely a decent genre piece in terms of story, atmosphere, and brutality. 7/10. (28/04/2021)
