As is customary with Disney sequels, the new film does not come close to the original. In direct comparison to the first installment, Aladdin: The Return of Jafar has no hope but to receive a far worse rating; fortunately, the Genie's one-man-show saves everything completely. Still, this does not change the fact that the central plotline of "you never told me about the parrot, so I'm going off to sulk in my chamber" is such a stretch that it ends up being nearly impossible to swallow.
