Lazarus Effect

The plot and in fact the rest of the story, including the (rather sympathetic) ending, feels like something out of a better (i.e. not completely stupid) episode of Believe it or Not. But I liked the fact that the film, thanks to the sober runtime, quickly got to the point, did not delay and tried only to worry and frighten from beginning to end. I was looking forward to the film mainly because of Olivia, who I still think deserves a really good role. And she didn't get it again. The story is simple, which wouldn't bother me so much, but the plot is just bad, too unoriginal, and too boringly executed. This is a horror where there are incredibly few moments when I could actually get scared. Overall, it's led so incredibly straightforwardly and, above all, uninterestingly, that the film simply can't do anything with you, and you'll just be watching without experiencing any emotion whatsoever. Except maybe boredom. It’s too bad, I expected much more from this. (17/06/2015)
