The Kings of Summer is a unique coming-of-age comedy about three teenage friends - Joe (Nick Robinson), Patrick (Gabriel Basso) and the eccentric and unpredictable Biaggio (Moises Arias) - who, in the ultimate act of independence, decide to spend their summer building a house in the woods and living off the land. Free from their parents' rules, their idyllic summer quickly becomes a test of friendship as each boy learns to appreciate the fact that family - whether it is the one you're born into or the one you create - is something you can't run away from. anglais Exactly the type of movies that are currently quite popular. Independent serious comedies that flow at their own leisurely pace, may not appeal to everyone, but generally it's not that bothersome. It's not that funny if you really want to laugh, but it has its charm. This is just a certain effort to go a slightly different way against adults. This film is good, it's imaginative, has interesting scenes, interesting characters, Biaggio is absolutely excellent. It's not a big joke, it's quite serious, but I like movies that can combine today's world with nature and it doesn't come across as unnecessary propaganda. ()

anglais To be honest, there were quite a few things that objectively bothered me in this film (the first one of which, in my opinion, are the not very convincing child actors – the boys in Jeff Nichols’s Mud were much better), but it does have something that charmed me. A nice indie thing. ()
