Ragnar et Horik veulent punir Jarl Borg, mais ils ne parviennent pas à se mettre d'accord sur les moyens à employer pour rendre la justice. Le roi Aelle arrive dans le Wessex. Ecbert envisage alors une nouvelle alliance pour renforcer le royaume. De son côté, Floki apprend par Helga qu'elle est enceinte. Il lui propose qu'ils se marient. The old alliance is obviously not getting rusty and they know that in England as well as in Scandinavia. Old friendships are renewed and future intrigues are initiated. In the end, it all culminates in an artful-looking execution.

The episode felt like it was split into two distinct parts. The first part was filled with political maneuvering, intrigue, and a slightly paranoid atmosphere where you couldn't tell who to trust — definitely my kind of thing. The second part focused on Jarl Borg’s fate. While I could have handled a few more intense scenes, it still didn’t disappoint. Since Lagertha has been my favorite character from the start, I had to give this episode a full five stars.
