Technically competent, a lot of moments have a very disturbing atmosphere, the protagonist portrays the role of a psychopath with panache, and the sound is also great… but, as a whole, the film is lacking something. It throws things around here and there without a clear goal. And it’s not effective as horror (few disturbing moments notwithstanding). Thus far, the biggest horror disappointment of the year, especially since it’s clear that it had more potential.
