A major weakness is the monster itself, which simply looks like a person with an ugly wound on their head, which is a scar from a brain surgery. There are unpleasant scenes here that you might remember, and for its time, they are not bad tricks, but don't expect anything groundbreaking in that sense. The film does not add anything to the legend, the only legend that shines in a good light is Peter Cushing.
