Les Sauveurs, dirigés par l'impitoyable Negan, qui ne se sépare jamais de sa batte de baseball, ont pris le dessus sur le groupe de Rick. La communauté d'Alexandria est sous le joug de ces mercenaires qui les rançonnent régulièrement. Dans la communauté de la Colline, Maggie tente de reprendre des forces. Rick, qui un temps semble dominé, va peu à peu reprendre confiance et organiser la résistance, aidé par Michonne. Ailleurs, le groupe du Royaume, dirigé par Ezekiel, est une base arrière qui va se joindre à la cause de Rick. (Groupe Canal+)

The seventh season of The Walking Dead is, in my view, an improvement over the previous three seasons, a step up. There are great gritty scenes and great fights. However, the tiger just looks too CGI at some points. Sure, he is probably always like that. However, it is too obvious at times. Plus, there are a lot of new characters, most of them interesting. In my view, a great season, for the first time in a while.

Season 7 is evidence that the series is clearly going downhill. Everything I loved about Season 1 is gone. The plot isn't dynamic enough, everything is drowned in constant philosophizing, and logic is taking way too much time off. The writers often contradict themselves, so the rules for the undead that they had originally established cease to apply, the story gradually turning into a farce. Negan, a promising new character, behaves in a completely stereotypical way unable to offer anything new after two episodes, while Rick desperately needs to be put out of his misery.
