En 1896, à Montmartre, le cancan est interdit. Mais Simone n'en a cure, qui le danse tous les soirs dans son night-club. Elle et ses filles usent de leurs charmes pour obtenir indulgence auprès des autorités. Mais le jeune et ambitieux juge Philippe Forrestier est bien décidé à faire respecter la loi. Frank Sinatra and Shirley MacLaine fit together perfectly and they are the ones who carry this film. It's a musical, and unfortunately, there's one problem: the songs here don't work very well. Almost half of them seemed unfinished and not very nice, but on the other hand, it works in terms of dance. In the end, it's moralizing, (but in a good way) fooling around.
