anglais "Andre and the Bee" is a groundbreaking film, but when you watch it today, it's simply just a momentary matter. Nothing revolutionary that would strike you as truly brilliant. However, it is necessary to realize that this is a film from 1984, when 3D computer animation was still in its infancy. "Andre and the Bee" is the first film that was fully animated on a computer in 3D. When we consider the available computers in 1984, it's a bit surprising. But this is progress. Thanks to it, we can enjoy films like "Finding Nemo" or "Brave". Yes, even though Lucasfilm is mentioned in the opening, this is the first project that brought about the legendary Pixar studio. The studio continues to produce short films to this day, so let's watch them all together. As I said, "Andre and the Bee" is their first film, it is a groundbreaking film but today it's just a bit too artificial animation with a very simple story. Andre is a peculiar character who is running away from a bee. The film is truly simple, the story is not crucial, and even though there is a punchline, it's not as cleverly crafted as a joke. As I say, you will appreciate the film mainly when you understand that this is the first time a film was completely made using CGI (Computer-generated imagery). In terms of technology, it's a success, but in terms of art, it's just a bite-sized snack that probably won't influence your life too much. ()
