anglais "Why did we do it? Why did we fight? -- Well, for the hell of it." Basically, quite a reverent transfer of Pergaud's book to another space and time with a somewhat television-imperfect concept (some sequences have no logic in the connections, sometimes the light is wonky, etc.) and a very nice musical undertone. I like how much care is given to the development of the conflict from the war for the "impotent" to the truly organized conflict, in which children satirize mature adult conflicts with magical simplicity. It is a pity that the roughly initiated conclusion turns into a "cliffhanger" drama, but the clash of a children's game with the responsibility and hypocrisy of adults is quite nicely outlined therein. My only objection is: why watch it in Ireland, when it was filmed earlier in France and was much better? ()
